Club Notes -28th May 2018

Sympathy

It was with great sadness last weekend that we learned of the death of Kathleen O’ Brien. Kathleen was one of the unsung heroes of our parish and GAA club. She was the vice treasurer of the GAA club and worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Our thought and prayers are with her husband Joe and daughters Emma, Louise and Fiona and her extended family.

Junior B Hurling

Coolderry 4-16, Drumcullen 0-10. The less said about this the better. Apart from a spurt after the break, Drumcullen played second fiddle to a fit and determined host who dominated in most positions on the field. Leading by 3-7 to 0-4 at half time, the outcome was never in doubt. Improved attendance at training would be a welcome development if players wish to show pride in their personal performance. U14 Feile Hurling

Having reached the division B semi-final from the previous week, Drumcullen/Seir Kieran played Na Fianna on Sunday in the Faithfull Fields which they won 7:07 to 1:03. They then progressed to the final to play CRC Gaels, however after trailing by 5 points to no score at half time Drumcullen/Seir Kieran were in a good position of a strong wind in the second half. But an early goal from CRC put us on the back foot and we never recovered. Drumcullen/Seir Kieran 1:01 – CRC Gaels 2:05. Thanks to the lads and management who performed fantastic over the two weekends.
