Club Notes -29th January 2018

Offaly Hurling

Well done to Kevin Martin & the Offaly Hurlers on their win in the Allianz League on Saturday last against Dublin and especially our own Colm Gath. The best of luck to them all for their next match, which will take place this Sunday against Limerick in O’Connor Park.

Fitzgibbon cup

We wish continued success to captain Podge Guinan and Sean Kinsella playing with UCD in the Fitzgibbon cup in the coming weeks.

Training

Training for the Juniors and Seniors will start back next Tuesday night at 7.30pm. Best of luck to Paddy Kirwan and his management team for the coming year.

Club Notes -15th January 2018

Strength and Conditioning training was held on Monday night last and continues every Friday and Monday at 7pm in Rath Hall. This is a six week term under instructor Fiona Mahon. All are welcome.

Thanks to all club volunteers who helped re-sod the goal mouths and assist with other work on the GAA premises in the past week.

Lotto numbers drawn for Saturday 13th January 2018 were 5, 8, 15 & 25. There was no jackpot winner and three match 2 winners each received €75. Deirdre Moore c/o Andrew Moore, Peter Lyons c/o self. Next week’s jackpot is €11,750 and team 2 is on rota.

Our U13 & U15 hurlers start back with strength and conditioning training on January 15th in Rath hall at 7pmand will continue every Monday and Friday at 7pm.

Best of luck to the Offaly hurlers, who have qualified for the Walsh cup semi-final. This will be played against Kilkenny this Saturday 13th at 2pm in Tullamore.

Club Notes -1st Janurary 2018

The Hurling and Camogie clubs held their Christmas night out in The Ramblers Rest Killyon on the Friday night last. An enjoyable night was had by all. Congratulations to Joe Mannion who won ‘volunteer of the year’. Thanks to all those who attended and supplied the spot prizes.

The annual hurling Puc Fada took place on St. Stephens Day from the clubhouse to Killyon where refreshments were served. It was a great family fun day and all proceeds were in aid of Rath development. Thanks to our Vice Chairman Declan Murray and his team for organising it.

A big congratulation’s to Keith Nugent and his fundraisers who raised €4515.00 for Movember and The Irish Cancer Society.

Well done to Colm Gath on his impressive debut with Offaly senior hurlers against Westmeath in the Walsh cup on Saturday last.

We welcome Paddy Kirwan, as coach for 2018 and we wish him and the players the best of luck in the year ahead.

Club Notes -16th December 2017

The annual hurling puc fada on the road takes place again on St. Stephens Day from the clubhouse at 11:am to The Ramblers Rest Killyon where refreshments will be served. Entry for adults is €10 and €5 for underage. This is a great family fun day and all are welcome. All proceeds in aid of Rath development.

The Hurling and Camogie clubs are holding a Christmas might in The Ramblers Rest Killyon on the 29th of December at 9;30. Parents, coaches and members are invited to an end of year party. We will have music and spot prizes on the night.
