Club Notes -3rd December 2018

Annual General Meeting

Our AGM was held on Friday 31st November. A comprehensive report was circulated to all present by our secretary and treasurer. Discussions were then held on both documents. This was followed by the Chairman’s address which reflected on the past year and outlined to all his vision for the upcoming year. Useful discussions then followed by all present on the direction the club is taking and on many other topics of sporting interest. The members present were highly appreciative of the great work of the outgoing executive throughout the year. Officers elected for the coming year were as follows: Life President: Mick Spain; President: Fr. John Moorehead, Vice-Presidents: Billy Gath, Peadar Lyons and Francis O’Brien. Chairman: Toni Ryan, Vice-Chairman: Declan Murray, Secretary: Dermot Horan, Assistant Secretary: Joseph Mannion, Treasurer: Peter Lyons.  Assistant Treasurer: Peadar Nugent. P.R.O: Joe O’Brien, Assistant P.R.O: Peter Darcy, Registrar: Eoin Lyons, Development Officer: Peadar Nugent. Vacancies for remaining positions will be filled by the incoming committee.

 

Table Quiz

Eglish/Rath Community Centre are holding a Table Quiz in The Fivealley Inn on Friday 7th December at 9;00pm. Teams of 4 -€10 per person. Don’t have a team?, come along on the night and you can join a table.

 

Sympathy:

We extend our deepest sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of the late John Murphy, Streamstown, Killyon who passed away recently.

Lotto

Numbers drawn on Saturday, 1st December were 8, 12, 17, & 29. Jackpot winner -none. Match 3’s –One, John Cashin won €150. Promoter’s prize went to Noel Mannion. Next Jackpot is €2,950 and team 2 is on rota next week.

Puc Fada

The annual hurling puc fada on the road takes place again on St. Stephens Day from the clubhouse at 11:am. Entry for adults is €10 and €5 for underage. This is a great family fun day and all are welcome.
