We have started development on our Hurling Field and will continue to do so over the next 2 years. Over the past few years we have tried to position the club back in the centre of our community to encourage inclusiveness and also facilitate other interested outside GAA including, Ploughing Ass., IFA, Community Games, Children’s Birthday Parties etc.

To advance this model the Club has planned some projects which will be of benefit to GAA people and those who have interests in other outdoor pursuits. With that said, works of this nature incurs a significant expense, therefore we will be running some fund raising activities over the next 18 months to help meet these costs. The below outlines the three major developments which will be undertaken;

Pedestrian Walking Track/Pathway

The club plans to design and build a walking track around the current pitch which will connect to the future pathway being planned from Rath village to facilitate all of our walking enthusiasts

Clubhouse Safety Zone

The club has already built a safety area outside the main gate and Clubhouse. This was put in place to help maintain the safety of our young players and supporters due to the busy road passing the grounds

Covered Astro Pitch

We currently have applied for planning to build an enclosed and covered area between the hurling wall and stand. This area will also have an artificial surface which will allow all teams use as a practise area in the winter months. We also envisage this as an area when free could be used to facilitate other sports.

We have a number of fund raising events in place for the next 18 months and have tried to include variety, so as to appeal to a broad range of people. I would ask if you have the means, to support one or as many of these upcoming ventures as possible. We will be communicating this through social media (See above), local Tribune and our new website which will be available this summer.
