Club Notes -16th July 2018

Senior B Hurling Championship

Drumcullen 0-12
Lusmagh 4-16
Drumcullen supporters travelled to Moystown on Sunday morning hoping the team would get back on track following a disappointing loss to Shamrocks in the previous round. However, they came away bitterly disappointed by a performance well below what is required to remain at this level, not to mention qualifying for the knockout stages. Lusmagh could scarcely believe how easy they found scores and the outcome was never in doubt before the break at which point the score stood at 3-9 to 0-6. Team: D. Spain, B. Kinsella, D. Maher, B. O’Meara, C. Guinan, D. Gath, D. Guinan, J. Cashin, R. Gath, Conor Gath (0-10), H. Ryan, J. Murray, J. McCarthy, Colm Gath (0-2), E. Gath, Subs used: K. Fleury, D. Mahon, E. Barrett, T. Leahy.

Community Games

After winning the Offaly Community Games U11 hurling title last month, our young hurlers travelled to Trim last Saturday to play Dicksboro of Kilkenny in the Leinster Final. These young hurlers played fantastically throughout, however the City opposition proved too strong and went on to win with score of 1:05 to 4:06. A Leinster Community games silver medal is a just reward for this special team. A big thanks to the huge number of supporters who travelled on the day. Team; Rory McIntyre. Kieran Coughlan. Mark Gleeson. Oisin Darcy (Capt). James Dooley. Macdarra Murphy. Mairtin Og Ryan, Jack Molloy. Michael Hackett. Peadar Ryan, James Hennessy. Hugh Claffey. Aaron Dooley. Harry Carroll and Aaron Quegan.
