I’m a Celeb fundraiser

The club is holding a celebrity fundraiser ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’ in the Tullamore Court on the 17th May. As all 24 contestants have now being named for the event, this weekend sees the start of the fund raisings events. First up is Bingo night this Saturday in Rath Hall at 8;30. There is up to €1400 in prize money with a Monster Raffle and amazing prizes.€10 for a big book and €7 for a small book.

I’m a Celeb fundraiser

For anyone that hasn’t been involved on social media our ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’ major fundraising contest is being held in Tullamore Court Hotel as 24 contestants enter the jungle to complete trials on the night! The aim is to complete all development works at Rath and have a wonderful community night. Tickets for the event are €25 euro. Each contestant will be fundraising on behalf of the club in the lead up which we hold will be fun and exciting lead up to the big night. The club is delighted to reveal the first six contestants for their major fund raising event I’m a Celeb Get Me Out of Here’. They are Annmarie Guinan, Kevin Fluery, Jennifer Guinan, Mairead Gath (nee Dooley), Paddy Ryan and Hugh Troy. The event takes place on May 17th in the Tullamore Court Hotel. Much like the popular TV series the contestants will become campmates for the night and will be put to the test in a variety of Bush Tucker Trials. Leinster Hurling League.

Our U13s and U15s are participating in the Leinster hurling leagues. These will commence in mid- February, further details to follow.

2019 Presidents Award

Congratulations to our very own Mick Spain who has been awarded the 2019 President’s award for outstanding contribution to the GAA over a prolonged period. Mikey has and continues to be a fantastic ambassador for our Club. This is huge honour for the Spain Family & Drumcullen GAA.

Mikey will be presented with his award on Friday March 8th at a special function in Croke Park. Tickets are available by contacting any of the Drumcullen committee before Feb 9th. Price €30.

Annual General Meeting

Our AGM was held on Friday 31st November. A comprehensive report was circulated to all present by our secretary and treasurer. Discussions were then held on both documents. This was followed by the Chairman’s address which reflected on the past year and outlined to all his vision for the upcoming year. Useful discussions then followed by all present on the direction the club is taking and on many other topics of sporting interest. The members present were highly appreciative of the great work of the outgoing executive throughout the year. Officers elected for the coming year were as follows: Life President: Mick Spain; President: Fr. John Moorehead, Vice-Presidents: Billy Gath, Peadar Lyons and Francis O’Brien. Chairman: Toni Ryan, Vice-Chairman: Declan Murray, Secretary: Dermot Horan, Assistant Secretary: Joseph Mannion, Treasurer: Peter Lyons.  Assistant Treasurer: Peadar Nugent. P.R.O: Joe O’Brien, Assistant P.R.O: Peter Darcy, Registrar: Eoin Lyons, Development Officer: Peadar Nugent. Vacancies for remaining positions will be filled by the incoming committee.
